VIVE congratulates PT. Sugar Labinta and PT. Kebun Tebu Mas for achieving the VIVE Claim Level.

The VIVE Programme congratulates PT. Sugar Labinta and PT. Kebun Tebu Mas for achieving the VIVE Claim Level in their first year of participation.

PT. Sugar Labinta and PT. Kebun Tebu Mas are two of the leading sugar refineries in Indonesia, both major suppliers to the top tier industrial consumers in Indonesia with a reputation for high quality products, customer service and ethical standards.

The Bandar Lampung and Lamongan refineries were assessed against the VIVE Programme’s Facility Module in March 2019. Participating within Step 3 of the programme, both refineries performed well across VIVE’s Pillars – Governance, Companies Facilities, People, Environment, Traceability and Transport. Particularly impressive scores were achieved in the People and Traceability Pillars.

The VIVE team commend both refineries for their performance and their exemplary responses to the VIVE remediation process, enabling them to achieve the VIVE Claim Level.

The VIVE Programme’s remediation process has been designed to drive continuous improvement after the point of assessment. This process saw both refineries implement a number of important changes to their businesses in order to achieve the VIVE Claim Level at the first time of asking. These changes included; the creation of new company policies, staff being retrained upon these policies and the formation of improvement plans for the coming year.

In Labinta and KTM we have found such commitment and, as partners, we now look forward to assisting both refineries throughout their continuous improvement journey and in the commercialisation of their sustainable sugars.
