Coca Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) Join Buyers Supporting VIVE
The Coca- Cola Company (TCCC) has set ambitious targets to source key agricultural ingredients sustainably and to focus on improving sustainability in agriculture.
TCCC’s Sustainable Agriculture Guiding Principles (SAGP) set the backdrop for evaluating supplier performance based on continuous improvement. The SAGP have been benchmarked against the VIVE Claim Level standard in order to reduce assessment fatigue and burden. TCCC recognises VIVE as one of its top tier partners, alongside the other globally recognised sustainability standards within the sector.
TCCC has continued to support the VIVE Programme globally, in particular as the programme expands across Africa. We are delighted to announce Coca Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) have joined Buyers Supporting VIVE, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and to achieve complete supply chain transparency.
CCBA is the eighth largest Coca-Cola bottling partner worldwide and the biggest in Africa. CCBA is present in thirteen countries in sub-Saharan Africa including South Africa, Eswatini, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, Mayotte, Comoros, Botswana and Zambia.
As a result, one of CCBA’s bottling plants in South Africa, Coca Cola Beverages South Africa, purchased over 25,000MT of VIVE Claim Level sugar from one of our VIVE participants in South Africa.
TCCC and CCBA’s support for VIVE is helping to drive change, leading to more sustainable and resilient supply chains.
