We are delighted to share that Alexandria Sugar Company (ASC), one of the largest beet sugar manufacturing facilities in the Middle East and North Africa, has achieved VIVE Excellence Level in their first year as a VIVE participant. This confirms their commitment to sustainability and reaching a widely recognised standard. The assessment took place at ASC’s beet factory and company owned farms, scoring an overall of 94% in the Facility Module and 85% in the Farm Module, with exceptional traceability scores.
Established in 2009, ASC operates under the umbrella of the Savola Group and are the first sugar beet producer to reach this status on VIVE. The Savola Group emphasises a great commitment to sustainability across its operations, ensuring that their practices have a positive impact on people and the environment. This is reflected through multiple Savola entities participating in the VIVE programme, all achieving the VIVE Claim or Excellence level.
