VIVE welcomes Suntory to Buyers Supporting VIVE

We are delighted to welcome Suntory Holdings to Buyers Supporting VIVE, through which they support the sustainable sourcing of VIVE sugar in their supply chains.

Suntory Group is among the world’s leading consumer products companies, creating and distributing products enjoyed by millions worldwide. Founded as a family-owned business in 1899 in Osaka, Japan, the group has grown into a multi-national corporation throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa.

The Suntory Group has released an Environmental Policy to “clearly indicate [their] prioritised environment initiatives such as “achieving water security”, “conserving and regenerating biodiverse ecosystems”, “promoting a circular economy”, and “transitioning to a net zero-carbon society”. In order to provide clear direction to sustainability management, we have formulated “Environmental Vision toward 2050” and “Environmental targets toward 2030”, and are promoting efforts to realise a sustainable society.”

The VIVE Programme’s expertise in sustainable supply chains creates a firm crossover with Suntory’s sustainability commitments. By joining Buyers Supporting VIVE, Suntory reaffirms its commitment to responsibly sourcing sustainable ingredients and implementing traceability throughout the commodity supply chain.

VIVE is a sustainable supply chain programme that aims to continuously improve the sustainability of its participants’ supply chains. The programme focuses on driving this continuous improvement at every stage of the supply chain, from producer to end-user. VIVE is managed by supply chain company CZ and agricultural assessment experts Intellync.

“Suntory proudly announces its partnership with the VIVE sustainable supply program,” said Brian Golden, Senior General Manager of Global Supply Solutions Department, Suntory Holdings Limited. “Suntory is focused on improving agriculture practices in all key ingredients and is fully aligned with VIVE’s goal to scale sustainable and traceable practices across the supply chain. Together we will work for a more sustainable future from farm to customer.”

Ben French, Senior Manager of the VIVE Programme, “CZ and Suntory have a supply chain service relationship that stretches across several years and regions. We have admired Suntory’s firm commitments and ambitions in sourcing sustainable raw materials during this time. We now look forward to strengthening our relationship through this continuous improvement sustainability journey.”

Suntory joins other large multi-national food and beverage companies that have lent their support to Buyers Supporting VIVE over the past few years, including Coca Cola, Fraser and Neave, Friesland Campina and Heineken.
